Welcome

Thanks for stopping by.

Our website contains resources for creating Appropriate Paper-based Technology (APT), more commonly known as paper furniture.

First started in Zimbabwe in the 1970s, the cost effective process uses simple and widely available materials such as cardboard, flour, string and water to create sturdy items of furniture and assistive devices for children with disabilities.

From simple booster seats, to colourful toys, beds, sofas and even an adult sized working canoe, APT offers flexible and eco-friendly

solutions for communities around the world.

Below you will find a link to a free download of our instruction manual that covers everything from the basics through to the most advanced pieces.  On our video page you will find some helpful demonstrations on how to create boards, paste and a child's booster seat.

We thank you for visiting and hope you find the materials useful.
